My dearest, much loved friend, I will miss you. Walking to Yorke Road Infant school together, then onto Harvey Road Junior and finally to Ricky Grammar School. Holding hands, riding our imaginary ponies, across the Green at Croxley, and 'tethering' them behind the Church so that they wouldn't be stolen! Building camps by the stile at the top of the Green, making our way down to the River Chess and laughing until we could barely stand. Then onto dancing at Kingham Hall, boyfriends, Chris and Peter, marriage, outings with four lovely children, Daniel, James, Elizabeth and Ali; holidays shared. Your gentleness, generosity of spirit, wise counselling, and love will always be with me. And even though our paths, at times, went in different directions, we never strayed from that friendship and I knew you were always, always there. Jan xx
